A vintage detail. Garland. Not the traditional idea either.

I've totally flipped for this gorgeous garland that Pam Garrison created using coffee filters.  Yes, coffee filters!  She doesn't give full d.i.y. instructions on her site, but the process seems pretty straightforward and uncomplicated.  I think the beauty of this project is that so much is left up to your own personal taste.  Mix in some bright colors if that's your thing, maybe string on some beads if you'd like... anything goes!  The sky's the limit. Use it as decor for the wedding, showers, reception, outdoors {tangled with lights}, etc. Then take it home and use it as shown below. Here's another variation that Pam came up with.
So lovely, right?!

Not hiring a wedding planner?

This might seem like a silly tip, but it’s a good one! Couple’s do not realize how much a wedding planner does. So, if you decide to forgo hiring one, please remember to do this - bring empty cardboard boxes! There is a lot to pack up after a wedding for the couple to take home. Leftover cake, leftover food, leftover everything! If you are letting your guests take home the floral arrangements, do them a favor and have a box for them to sit the arrangement in so they do not spill water everywhere. The list of items is endless!

Centerpieces that really tell a bit about the B&G.

Just saw another great idea... For each table at the reception have a special date for the bride and groom. Now in my version I would add his story of this encounter on one side an hers on the other, and a picture if there is one. Put some flowers and other centerpiece decor around and you have a conversation starter. It is really nice for those who don't know these precious details of what make up the bride and room.

What are your memorable days?

This is a great DIY project!
